Enerquin will supply Heat Recovery System to Nippon Paper in Japan

Enerquin will supply a second heat recovery system to Nippon Paper, Asahikawa mill, Hokkaido, Japan.

Enerquin’s energy savings solutions increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions, which align with Nippon Paper’s corporate vision of promoting environmental sustainability in conjunction with corporate growth. The project is scheduled for start-up during the 4th quarter of 2022.

The project includes the supply of an indirect air-to-water heat exchanger, which will utilize exhaust air from a paper machine to heat fresh water. The waste heat never comes into direct contact with the water that is being heated. This keeps the water clean, thus eliminating the need for post-process filtration. “Planning a potential heat recovery project requires a quantitative analysis of the potential heat sources and heat sinks. Along with its Japanese partner, Horikawa Engineering, Enerquin optimized the system’s design to recuperate over 6000 kilowatts of energy which will result in a rapid return on investment”, added Lawrence Yane, Sales Manager at Enerquin.
