Tissue Machine Wet End Exhaust Systems

With over four decades of knowledge in tissue paper machine wet end configurations, our expertise in the design and manufacture of wet end former exhaust systems is unsurpassed. We provide a total solution to the control and elimination of mist and high humidity levels at the machine wet end.

Wet End Air Management

Properly designed wet end ventilation systems guarantee good working conditions and protect the machine hall from deterioration and corrosion. The wet end exhaust system exhausts hot moisture-laden air directly from several strategically located pick-up points. The mist not captured at the source is collected underneath a false ceiling then exhausted through the roof on the paper machine’s drive side. When engineering the wet end air management of a tissue machine room, we take under consideration the air balance of both wet end and dry end areas to avoid mist migration to the dry end and dust migration to the wet end.

OUR WET END SOLUTIONS CAPTURE MIST AT THE SOURCE

WET END FORMER EXHAUST

  • Improves the cleanliness of the former and press sections

  • Eliminates mist around the machine

  • Sophisticated duct network designed to prevent fibre and stock build-up

WATER AND FIBER SEPARATOR

The exhaust air from the tissue machine wet end contains large amounts of water and fibre particles. The separators are designed to efficiently remove water droplets and contaminants from the exhaust air before entering the fan and being evacuated out of the building. Separators are essential in preventing ice formation on building roofs in cold climates.

WET END MACHINE ROOM FALSE CEILING AND EXHAUST SYSTEM

  • Reduces risk of damage on the building caused by corrosion due to high ambient humidity in the wet end area
  • Help confine and extract vapours at roof level
  • Improves the working environment
  • Special attention to the design to be aesthetic, durable, and easy to maintain

ROOF SUPPLY AND HEATING SYSTEM

  • Heats and pressurizes the area between the roof and the false ceiling
  • Keeps the false ceiling surface temperature above the moist air dew point to avoid condensation and dripping on the paper machine
  • An optional feature creates drive side “air sweep” effect under the false ceiling to enhance the efficiency of false ceiling roof exhausters and prevent dust build-up

Is mist causing problems around the machine?

Yankee air systems are energy-intensive and should routinely be checked to ensure they run at an optimal level. Contact our TSD department today and have our experts asses your equipment.
