In Spring 2021, Enerquin successfully designed, fabricated and installed a new HDP Hood in Eastern Canada.
The mill started up its PM1 on schedule at the end of April after the complete rebuild of its Paper Machine Hood by Enerquin. Custom designed to meet the mill’s specifications, Enerquin’s premium hood will significantly improve thermal efficiencies, increase the entire drying process’s performance, and the design will allow easy access when maintenance is required.
Enerquin accepted the challenge of a 12-day install and partnered with a local company, First Choice Ventilation, to do the work. A lot of thought was required to meet deadlines, such as equipment placement and organization within the mill. The fact that Enerquin’s HPD Hood can be installed in less time than comparable hoods on the market made it an obvious choice for this critical machine shutdown.
